Handmade earthenware profile vase glazed with a black underglaze and coated with a clear high shine glaze both inside and out. Unglazed base with Umlaut logo. Each piece is made by hand with variation in shape and size. Measures approximately 6" x 3" x 1.5"
UMLAUT CERAMICS - Portland, Oregon based artist Patti Miller is a lifelong multi-media artist who dabbled in ceramics throughout her life until she created Ümlaut Ceramics in 2017. As her enthusiasm for art, nature, and design continued to expand, she became inspired by the idea of making the pots and vases she couldn’t find at a store.Patti currently works out of her home studio and is always dreaming up ways to make an object that will make daily life more exciting. She uses an array of techniques including hand building with slabs and throwing on the wheel, and she uses a variety of clay including earthenware, porcelain, and stoneware. Patti sees each piece she creates as a one of a kind sculpture. Her work is bold and graphic, working with optical illusions, wavy lines, and negative space.
