Desi considers herself a social entrepreneur. She is a mover, maker, and musician, organically finding her way in practice that involves yoga, dance, and the dreamy experimental R&B music she makes. Desi has a background in environmental and social justice and attended UWM and FIT in NYC for textile production.
Is there something new that you've started doing in the past 4 months? "I started teaching myself pole dancing and practicing Ashtanga yoga. I’ve been focused on deepening my yoga practice and sharing my music. I think the two will eventually come together through sound, meditation, and sacred movement."
Is there something you’ve stopped doing/caring about in the past 4 months? "I stopped eating meat and dairy."
What’s your favorite thing about Milwaukee (or place)? "Most proud of the protestors for the BLM movement still showing the f*** UP."
Where or who do you draw your inspiration from? "Inspiration is endless.. Solange, Janet Jackson, Kelela, Donna Summer. I’m influenced by everything, I feel so much. I’m super impressionable and sensitive."
